Cameron Grey, 24, of Bellefontaine will release his debut EP (extended play) during a show at Catfish Jones in Urbana on Thursday, June 18.

The area hip hop artist returned to Ohio six months ago after living and working in Los Angeles. He made the move so he could “afford to pursue music full time,” according to his bio.

Grey was a student at Wright State University when he decided to chase his dream of becoming a music producer, the biography states. He moved to Orlando, Fla., and enrolled at Full Sail University. In September 2006, he received his associate’s degree in recording arts and a bachelor of science degree in the entertainment business.

In January 2007, he moved to Los Angeles and for a year worked to record/edit “The Bible Experience,” an audio performance of the Bible presented by almost 400 performers, including Grammy winners, Emmy winners, Golden Globe winners and Oscar winners, and produced by Inspired by Media Group Inc. “The Bible Experience” was named Audiobook of the Year 2007 and was a Grammy runner-up in 2007.

In addition to his EP, which is self-titled Cameron Grey, Grey has a mixtape called “Hip Hop Kid Vol. 1.”

The show at Catfish Jones will begin at 10 p.m.
